Past Event: “Asia in Three Texts”

Americans work, play, eat, travel and purchase globally; awareness of the intellectual underpinnings of rising Asian nations and cultures is essential to understanding new global realities.

On Thursday, August 25, 2011, Trustee Wayne Eastman led a discussion of “Asia in Three Texts” at Words Bookstore in Maplewood. Trustee Eastman is a Professor at Rutgers University, where he teaches Business Ethics at Rutgers Business School and has traveled and/or studied work cultures in Asia, Africa, Europe and North America.

The 3 texts discussed: Tao Te Ching (East Asia); Bhagavad Gita (South Asia); The Garden of Eden Story (“West” Asia).

More than a dozen people attended and had a very intimate and lively discussion. To see a copy of the presentation, click HERE. To see more photos, click here to go to our Facebook page.
